Cafe La Rosita was very possibly the most popular cafe in León, Nicaragua, attracting tourists, expats, and locals alike. In April 2012, the doors shut without thoughts of re-opening, leaving many workers searching for new jobs to support their families.
After months of planning with La Base, nailing down a solid group, and finally finding the perfect location, these workers will open their new cafe in August. La Base's | investment will finance everything to start back up this beloved León jewel: the machinery, kitchen supplies, dining room supplies, food and drink, the first few months of rent and utilities, deposit, and advertising. And for the first time, these workers will own and manage their own business using the know-how they gained from the original owner and the determination that has brought them to this moment today.
