The irregularity of demand for goods as durable as those that Crometal manufactures makes it very difficult to predict the amount of capital that will be required at a given time. It can happen, as in this case where they asked for help from La Base, that they recieve an order but have insufficient raw materials to fulfill it. Having access to a source of capital | quickly is a necessity for the cooperative if they are to be able to meet the needs of its clients and grow. A cooperative of its size and productive capacity needs injections of capital. The $30,000 loan that La Base offered, allows the coop to reduce difficulties with associated with the costs of obtaining capital from other sources of financing. |
