The cooperative Crometal is a recovered factory dedicated to the production of industrial stands and scaffolding. Since La Base started working with the coop in 2005, production has soared, the number of worker-owners has doubled, and competitiveness has increased significantly. From 18 worker-owners in 2005, Crometal has increased to 35 compañeros today.
Over the course of 23 loans Crometal and La Base have together fostered a close relationship with a great deal | of trust. The cooperative has grown enormously and the types of challenges faced have changed continuously according to the scale of production.
In this moment the cooperative is being affected by the crisis, which has hit producers of durable goods disproportionately. Orders have become less regular and the periods of payment have stretched longer. This project is designed so the cooperative can turn its checks into cash to avoid gaps in the productive cycle. |
