Crometal is a recovered factory dedicated to the production of industrial scaffolding. Their previous brand, Acrow, was very well known in the area. Since we started working with them in 2005 their production has gone up steadily and they have doubled their number of worker-owners, from 18 to 35.
Over the course of 22 loans the cooperative and La Base have established a very close relationship. Crometal has grown enormously and the types of challenges that have arisen have changed with this growth, to the point where La Base | is at the limit of how much it can help.
In this moment the cooperative is suffering the difficulties presented by the economic crisis, which has hit producers of durable goods harder than most (as they are the ones that provide materials for moments of economic expansion). Particularly, many of their historic orders have become more sporadic, and the periods of payment have grown longer. Because of this the cooperative has asked La Base for this change of checks so as to better withstand gaps in their liquidity cycle.
