Crometal is a cooperative in Berazategui, Province of Buenos Aires, making industrial shelves and scaffolding for construction. Their prior brand, Acrow, was very well known. Since we started to work with them in 2005 they have increased production enormously, has duplicated the amount of workers from 18 to 36 and has strongly improved its competivity. THrough 19 loans, the coop and La Base have cemented a close and trusting relationship. Crometal has made enormous progress and the type of challenges that have risen have changed constantly in many ways | including scale, even getting to the point where they take La Base's loaning capacity to the limit. At this time the coop is feeling the difficulties rought on by the crisis which has hit hardest at the sector of durable goods producers, which are more in demand in moments of economic growth. More specifically, orders have become more irregular and payment schedules have become more stretched. It's worth pointing out that we have been detecting a tendency for demand to stabilize at a relatively high point compared to the beginning of the year. |
