The cooperative Crometal is a recovered factory dedicated to the production of industrial stands and scaffolding. Since La Base started working with the coop in 2005, production has soared, the number of worker-owners has doubled, and competitiveness has increased significantly. From 18 worker-owners in 2005, Crometal has increased to 35 compañeros today.
Over the course of 12 loans Crometal and La Base have together fostered a close relationship with a great deal of trust. The cooperative has grown enormously and the | types of challenges faced have changed continuously according to the scale of production.
The purpose of this loan is to enable the coop to access liquidity to reduce troughs in the production cycle. Also, at the beginning of the year several of the worker-owners will be taking vacations and need access to the dividends that correspond to each of them. For this they have asked La Base for a line of credit for liquidity. The checks which will be cashed are post-dated at approximately two months of the date of the loan. |
