Crometal is a cooperative in Berazategui, Provincia de Buenos Aires, making industrial shelves and scafflolding for construction. The cooperative had 18 associate workers when la Base began work with them en March, 2005, and now the number has grown to mor than forty associate and applicant workers. Since the first loan the cooperative received 7 loans to complete specific orders that La Base helped to finance. All these loans were repaid on time and have | had a significant impact on the development of the cooperative. En this case the loan requires the cooperative to replace old painting machines in order to increase production time and save, by recycling, a considerable amount of paint. La Base could finance the machines (two paint pistols and a paint collection sheet that collects unused paint). The loan could begin to be repaid from savings realized by increased production and savings in paint. |
